Fillings are used when a tooth's structure has been compromised, usually by a cavity, but before too much damage has been done. Fillings "fill" in the damaged part of the tooth, protecting the sensitive areas of the tooth for the long term, while maintaining the tooth's natural shape and structure. At Stahl Dental Studio our fillings are made with only modern ceramic and plastic compounds rather than "silver" or mercury based amalgams, simulating the look and stability of natural teeth. As a conservative and esthetic alternative, Dr. Stahl is also able to place Cerec 3D all-porcelain inlays and onlays in those teeth that are not strong enough to hold a regular plastic filling. In this way we are able to save the natural enamel of your tooth and prevent it from needing a crown.
